Dr. Giulia Pedretti is a canine scientist and dog trainer at Dogs and Science. An accomplished postdoctoral researcher at the Domestic Dog Ethology Lab at the University of Parma, she brings a rich blend of academic research and practical training expertise. She specializes in dog behaviour, communication, cognition, and olfactory abilities, with her research focusing on the communicative functions of self-directed behaviours in domestic dogs. Beyond academia, she is a certified dog trainer and educator, skilled in general and hunting dog training, and serves as an instructor in olfactory activities.

Dr. Abele has practiced veterinary medicine in various locations, enhancing her expertise in animal health and welfare. Jade Nicholson

Our dog behaviour consultant

Jade Nicholson is a qualified dog behaviourist and trainer at Dogs and Science, holding an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the prestigious University of Lincoln. Her extensive experience includes working in the behaviour department of the UK Charity Dogs Trust, as well as volunteering for various other charities both in the UK and internationally. Within Dogs and Science, Jade provides invaluable expertise in addressing complex canine behavioural issues through our virtual behaviour consultations and training. Outside of Dogs and Science, she continues to handle on-site behaviour cases, applying her deep knowledge and skills to help improve the welfare of dogs and their relationships with their owners. Jade is also passionate about enhancing the human-canine bond and cherishes the practical insights she gains from her daily interactions with her bloodhound puppy, Cheddar.
